TORONTO – CTV has launched a new online show called Interference billed as a spin-off of original primetime police drama Played.
Interference’s six original episodes are available exclusively on CTV’s digital platforms. Viewers may interact with the series using mobile phones and Facebook.
The new interactive digital drama has Played’s Covert Investigations Unit (C.I.U) team at risk as Khali (Agam Darshi) discovers a massive security breach in the C.I.U. network. Interference prompts viewers to get involved and interact with the series, triggering advancements in the story and becoming a key character in the plot.
“Interference is part of CTV’s ongoing strategy to extend the viewer experience by providing fans with innovative and interactive opportunities to further engage with CTV original programming,” said Mike Cosentino, CTV’s senior vice-president of programming, in the news release. “The action-packed world of Played, one that is full of split-second decisions, lent itself perfectly to creating a spin-off using the latest technology in interactive digital series.”
New episodes of Played air Thursdays at 10:00 pm ET/PT on CTV.
