VANCOUVER – CTV British Columbia is offering a three-minute local noon newscast designed specifically for mobile smartphones.
Hosted by anchor Coleen Christie weekdays at 12 noon PT, CTV News Digital Edition is the first local mobile newscast of its kind in the market. It is free to watch, requires no app, and is available to view for 24 hours until the following weekday at noon.
“Because the newscast is app-free, there is no downloading, no hunting, viewers are not tethered to a computer. Instead, they have a very streamlined user experience which is important to busy Canadians,” said producer Heron Hanuman, in the press release. “The launch of this mobile newscast delivers exactly what users want: a convenient, innovative, compelling and useful tool for news.”
