CTS 2011: Canada gets own telecom certification facility courtesy of Tech Mahindra

TORONTO – Canadian wireless operators will now have their own facility to assist with the certification services of their mobile devices.

India-based telecom supplier Tech Mahindra said Wednesday at the Canadian Telecom Summit that it will create the Toronto Innovation Center to offer mobile device certification services in application testing, field testing, inter-operability testing and performance testing.

“The Toronto Innovation Center, along with our Innovation Labs and Ideation Factory in Seattle and New Delhi, will enable Tech Mahindra to continue to pioneer new services and technology solutions for the growing mobile market and enhance the customer experience”, said Jagdish Mitra, VP of enterprise mobility and VAS practice. “It will also enable our customers to mobilize their business applications to better address their customer needs in the future. We are delighted to be selected by leading telecommunications services providers for their Devices Certification Program and we look forward to expanding our operations to support other players in the mobility ecosystem in Canada and throughout North America.”

Tech Mahindra will offer the certifications services through its mobile applications subsidiary CanvasM Technologies.
