TORONTO – Tickets are now on sale for next month’s CTAM Canada Broadcaster Forum.
Scheduled for November 19 starting at 1:00 PM at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, the third annual event will feature Canadian-specific market research, a panel of industry leaders in media, distribution and technology discussing current industry insights and hot topics, plus a panel of consumers. A networking reception will follow the event.
Panel #1 – The Role of Large Value Packs in a World of Choice
With an increase the availability of choice and packaging flexibility into the traditional television ecosystem, how might the adoption of traditional Value Packs change over the next five years?
With more Canadians re-evaluating the cost of their PayTV subscription, believing that they can save money by getting fewer channels, what changes should be made to Value Packs to ensure they retain their perceived value among Canadians?
Speaker – Dilip Soman: Professor of Marketing at the Rotman School of Management / author of 'The Last Mile'
A Behavioural Lens on Consumer Choice
Much has been written about the fact that human behaviour is irrational and that people make choices that may not often be in their best interest. Dilip Soman takes a different stance on the subject of rationality. Through his presentation, learn about the evidence and the effects of "overchoice", prescriptions on how to can help consumers navigate choices, and how consumers may systematically choose options that do not give them the best experience.
Research Presentation – Charlton Strategic Research principal Gord Hendren
Hendren will present insights from the 2015 CTAM Canada's Video Consumption Research study. This will include a close look at trends in viewing, trends in how people watch, the disconnect between channel brand and programs that matter, and the effects of 'Skinny Basic' for existing subscribers, cord cutters and cord nevers.
Panel #2:- An Actual Conversation with Canadian "cord cutters" and "cord nevers"
Moderated by Gord Hendren, hear from real people who made the ultimate consumer choice when it comes to their cable subscription. This conversational panel will help to uncover why some Canadians are ditching the traditional Pay TV ecosystem – learn why they don't subscribe, where they're going, and what, if anything, the Pay TV industry can do to bring them back.
Tickets are $50.00 for current CTAM Canada members or $125.00 for non-members (which includes 1 year CTAM Canada membership for eligible members).
