TORONTO — To honour the memory of CTAM Canada member Eugenia “Genie” Loukian (pictured), who died in late 2019, the association has created a new event called Genie’s Breakfast in support of Look Good Feel Better, a cancer support program.
“Eugenia was someone who believed in supporting and connecting with people from all areas of our business and was a champion for her peers and colleagues within the industry. As many of us worked with her professionally, she was also an active member and supporter of CTAM Canada; and we want to ensure her legacy will live on with those of us who knew her, and even those who didn’t,” reads the CTAM Canada announcement.
Genie’s Breakfast will take place on March 5 at the Malaparte event venue located inside the TIFF Bell Lightbox in downtown Toronto. The featured keynote speaker will be Melani Griffith, vice-president of marketing and sales at Google Fiber, who will share her stories of success, how to navigate change, overcome setbacks and inspire others. Following the keynote, Marilyn Barefoot of Barefoot Brainstorming will run an interactive brainstorming session that will encourage attendees to share their stories and find solutions to common challenges. A networking session will follow the event.
To honour Loukian, the event will support a cause close to her. Look Good Feel Better helps women and teen girls facing the difficult journey after a cancer diagnosis, when a loss of identity is often felt. At the heart of the program is a complimentary two-hour workshop that addresses the appearance-related impact of cancer and its treatment. Look Good Feel Better offers women a welcoming sense of community, where they can spend much-needed time on themselves and connect with other women facing similar challenges.
Tickets can be purchased for Genie’s Breakfast by clicking here. The event is open to CTAM Canada members only.
