Crosslake Fibre taps cable, HDD shore end suppliers for subsea cable project

TORONTO and BUFFALO – Crosslake Fibre has selected Sweden’s Hexatronic Cables & Interconnect Systems AB to supply the high-fibre-count submarine fibre optic cable and Greece-headquartered Maritech International LTD to construct the Horizontal Directional Drilled (HDD) shore ends for its 58 km submarine cable project being developed across Lake Ontario.Crosslake Fibre's Lake Ontario project is an unrepeatered submarine fibre-optic cable system that will be the first system across Lake Ontario to directly connect Toronto and Buffalo with dark fibre.
