QUISPAMSIS, NB – The Canadian Communication Systems Alliance said Monday voting is now open for the 2019 edition of the Tuned-in Canada: the CCSA Awards.
The awards are a nationwide, annual competition highlighting the excellent work performed by CCSA members – independent, local providers of internet, television and telephone services across Canada.
Canadians are invited to visit Tuned-in Canada 2019 to cast a vote for nominees in the following three categories:
1. Best people: on-camera community channel personality
2. Best story: giving back
3. Best photo: connecting Canadians
Voting takes place on the Tuned-in Canada website, and voters can cast their votes until May 17 at midnight (Atlantic). The winners will be announced on May 29 and each will receive $1000 to donate to a local charity or organization of their choice.
“As always, our group of finalists demonstrates the wonderful contribution these companies are making to communities across Canada,” said CCSA CEO Jay Thomson, in the announcement. “This year we are excited to report that our shortlist includes more representation for northern Canada than ever before.”
Judges Matt Polka (president and CEO of ACA Connects – America’s Communications Association), Suzanne Lamarre (lawyer at Therrien Couture and former CRTC commissioner), Greg O’Brien (president of Findtv, and editor/publisher of Cartt.ca), and Joely Collins (award-winning producer, director and founder of Vancouver-based Million Faces Productions) recently shortlisted the 13 finalists from a field of nominations submitted by CCSA member companies and their customers.
“We hope Canada will embrace their local nominees and bring out the vote,” added Thomson. “It’s going to be an exciting two weeks, so stay tuned.”
