Crave to debut 1 Queen 5 Queers in December


TORONTO — Bell Media announced today 1 Queen 5 Queers, a new panel show hosted by Canada’s Drag Race judge Brooke Lynn Hytes (above), will premiere on Thursday, Dec. 9 on Crave.

This new eight-part Crave Original series is an update to MTV Canada’s 1 Girl 5 Gays panel show, which ran from 2009 to 2014, explains a press release.

The new series “presents fierce, fiery, and uncensored discussions about sex, relationships, pop culture, challenges facing the LGBTQ2S+ community, and more,” the release reads.

Panellists and special guests appearing on the half-hour show include fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi, General Hospital transgender actress Cassandra James, Peabody and American Film Institute Award winner Our Lady J, Canada’s Drag Race guest judge and choreographer Hollywood Jade, award-winning queer comedian Tricia Black, actor and retired professional hockey player Harrison Browne, model and multidisciplinary performer Ivory Conover, and lifestyle blogger Myles Sexton.

“I’m so excited to be part of bringing this edgy, hilarious, heartfelt, and boundary-pushing new series to Crave!” said Hytes, who is also executive producer of the series, in the press release. “Get ready to clutch your pearls, and possibly shed a tear or two, because some authentic voices are about to open up, offering captivating personal stories and uncensored opinions.”

1 Queen 5 Queers is produced by Bell Media Studios in association with Crave and is distributed by Bell Media Distribution.

The first two episodes will premiere on Crave on Dec. 9, with the remaining episodes dropping on the following Thursdays. The series will also be available with subtitles to French Crave audiences.
