
Bell Media’s Crave announced Monday its new original comedy series The Trades will premiere on the streaming service March 22, as revealed Sunday night during TSN and CTV’s broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII.
Shot in Dartmouth, N.S., and Hamilton, Ont., the eight-part comedy series is a co-production between Trailer Park Boys Inc. and Kontent House Productions Inc., in association with Crave. The series centres around a group of refinery plant workers and the blue-collar community they call home.
Portraying pipefitter Todd Stool, Trailer Park Boys star Robb Wells leads an ensemble cast of Canadian actors including Anastasia Phillips (Moonshine) playing Todd’s sister and roommate Audrey Stool, Patrick McKenna (The Red Green Show) as their father Rod Stool, Tom Green (The Tom Green Show), Jennifer Spence (You Me Her, Travelers), Raoul Bhaneja (Blindspot, Miss Sloane), Dan Petronijevic (Letterkenny, 19-2), Jesse Camacho (Less Than Kind), Brandon Oakes (Diggstown, Unsettled), Jason Daley (Trailer Park Boys), Susan Kent (This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Trailer Park Boys), and Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars, Flashpoint).
The Trades is distributed by Rollercoaster Entertainment with Blink49 representing U.S. licensing. Ryan J. Lindsay is creator, writer and executive producer. Shelley Eriksen is also writer and executive producer, while Gary Howsam is executive producer, and Jonathan A. Walker and Robb Wells are producers. Warren Sonoda is director. John Morayniss and Virginia Rankin are executive producers for Blink49 Studios.
The first two episodes of The Trades will be available to stream Friday, March 22 on Crave, with two new episodes dropping each week on the following three Fridays.
