Bell Media’s Crave announced last week all six episodes of Season 2 of its original dark comedy Sisters will drop Wednesday, April 22.
An Irish-Canadian coproduction, Sisters is produced by Peer Pressure and Shaftesbury, in association with Mermade, RTÉ and Crave. It stars real-life best friends Emmy nominee Sarah Goldberg (Barry) and Susan Stanley, who are also the creators, writers and executive producers of the series.
Season 2 picks up in Dublin, where Suze (Stanley) discovers unsettling news about her fertility, 18 months after being abandoned by her sister Sare (Goldberg). Meanwhile in Toronto, Sare is planning her wedding and hiding a secret health crisis.
“When an unexpected invitation to Sare’s wedding prompts Suze to travel to Canada, a chaotic journey begins — filled with family secrets, unexpected revelations, and strained relationships. As Sare’s wedding day approaches, Suze uncovers more about her sister’s struggles, and both women are forced to confront their pasts and their futures,” reads a description of Season 2 from Crave.
Donal Logue and Sophie Thompson reprise their roles as Jimmy and Sheryl in the second season. New cast members include Sonja Smits, Barbara Brennan, Jim Annan, Dylan Taylor, Vanessa Matsui, Peter Keleghan and Linda Kash.
In addition to Goldberg and Stanley, the second season of Sisters is written by Karen Kicak, Nessa Wrafter and Paul Howard. Yael Staav is the director. Serving as executive producers alongside Goldberg and Stanley are Angela Squire, Richard Cook, Christina Jennings, Scott Garvie, Declan Lowney, Kira Carstensen, Melanie Donkers, Ruth Coady, Justin Healy and Karen Kicak. Paul Howard is the story producer. Alex House and Paige Haight are producers.
Fremantle is the global distributor of Sisters.
