Crave announces original docuseries on Canadian women’s rugby team

Bell Media’s Crave announced last week it has ordered a four-episode documentary series from Boat Rocker Studios that will offer behind-the-scenes access to the Canadian women’s rugby team and their journey through the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

Announced prior to the World Cup final on Saturday, Sept. 27 — in which second-ranked Canada lost to top-ranked England in a feistily contested match — All Heart: Canada Women’s Rugby and the Quest for Rugby World Cup Glory (working title) is set to stream on Crave in 2026, followed by a broadcast on Bell Media’s TSN.

The docuseries is produced by Boat Rocker Studios, in partnership with Crave, alongside executive producers Jay Baruchel and The Tragically Hip, and in collaboration with Rugby Canada and World Rugby.

“A culmination of years of sacrifice, hard work, and preparation, the series follows Canada’s women’s national rugby team as they pursue a history-making campaign to win Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025,” reads a description in a Bell Media press release last Friday. “Through unprecedented access provided by the partnership with Rugby Canada and World Rugby, viewers can witness a story of raw conviction and self-belief that transcends the sport.”

“Canadians are captivated by this team’s inspiring and tenacious journey to the Rugby World Cup Final, and we’re excited to bring the thrill of their pursuit of victory to Crave audiences,” said Carlyn Klebuc, general manager of original programming at Bell Media, in the press release.

“We’re passionate about telling powerful, character-driven stories, and this series is exactly that,” said Boat Rocker Studios co-founders David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg in a joint statement. “Canada’s women’s rugby team is not only one of the best in the world, but also among the most inspiring. With incredible partners and unparalleled access, we’re proud to bring audiences inside this extraordinary journey as these athletes chase greatness on the global stage.”
