OTTAWA – The Cable Public Affairs Channel (CPAC) has kicked off its 24th season with new programming and a new look that it says better reflects its balanced and unbiased coverage of politics and public affairs.
In addition to the updated logo and new slogan ‘For the Record’, CPAC is readying a new weekly international affairs program hosted by veteran journalist Alison Smith that is scheduled to debut on November 20. Other programming highlights include the return of the flagship political show Prime Time Politics; original documentaries Transgender Journey: The Struggle for Rights and Respect and Inside The Supreme Court of Canada; plus a new daily podcast hosted by Mark Sutcliffe called CPAC Today in Politics, which will begin on October 3.
"CPAC is unique and different. Our mission is to foster democracy by offering a direct and unfiltered access to our democracy in action," said CPAC president Catherine Cano, in the news release. "We are proud of providing extensive coverage on issues so Canadians can make up their own mind about what matters to them. In this era of information overload, CPAC is a reliable source that people can trust."
Owned by Canada’s cable companies, CPAC is a commercial-free, not-for-profit, bilingual television service providing a window on Canadian politics and public affairs.
