Cost of 2-6GB data plans has dropped, says federal government report


OTTAWA – François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, announced today the government has published the latest quarter (July-September) of wireless pricing data for plans ranging from 2GB to 6GB, which shows the prices for such plans have decreased since early 2020. “The latest data shows that prices for most mid-range plans have decreased by between 10% and 25% compared to the benchmark prices collected in early 2020 and that prices of mid-range data plans are continuing to move in the right direction,” a government press release says.
