Corus Studios sells more than 250 hours of content to kick off 2021

TORONTO — Corus Studios announced today it has sold more than 250 hours of content through North American and international distribution deals across linear and streaming services.

“We’ve seen terrific demand from global broadcasters for our strong slate of shows,” said Lisa Godfrey, senior vice-president of original content and Corus Studios. “Corus Studios is hitting the mark creatively with content that resonates with viewers domestically and abroad. Productions in Canada remain safely underway and we are on schedule to deliver additional series across our four pillars of food, renovation, unscripted and factual content this year.”

Newly promoted to SVP of original content at Corus Entertainment, Godfrey will continue to champion international content distribution across Corus Studios in this expanded role, in addition to leading original content for the company’s brands.

Corus Studios’ new North American distribution deals include The CW Network in the U.S. picking up dessert competition series Great Chocolate Showdown (pictured, season one, eight episodes x 60 minutes), which is set to premiere in 2021. The show’s judging panel includes best-selling cookbook author Anna Olson (Junior Chef Showdown, Corus Studios), award-winning British cake designer Cynthia Stroud and prominent pastry chef and chocolatier Steven Hodge (Project Bakeover, Corus Studios).
