TORONTO – Veteran broadcast exec Byron Garby has been named general manager, national sales for Corus Radio, effective September 10, 2015.

Garby, pictured, was most recently VP of sales for ZoomerMedia, but has also held leadership positions at Bell Media, Milestone Radio, Telemedia and Standard Broadcasting.  In addition, he has been president of both the Broadcast Executives Society (BES) and the Canadian Association of Broadcast Representatives.

In his new role, Garby will lead Corus Radio’s national sales effort with all agencies and national clients and work directly with Canadian Broadcast Sales (CBS) to maximize a consistent sales strategy for the company’s national business, reads Monday’s announcement.  He will report to Corus Radio and Corus Média president Mario Cecchini.

“A seasoned radio executive, Byron brings extensive radio sales expertise to our Corus Radio team,” said Cecchini, in the announcement.  “As Corus Radio’s centralized resource, Byron will be integral to managing our partner relationship and taking it to another level through targeted and effective sales strategies to meet and deliver results for our national advertisers and clients.”
