MONTREAL – With Christmas just a few weeks away, Corus Québec and its stations 98.5 FM, CKOI, CKAC, Info690, 940 Montreal and Q92 are asking their listeners to ignore the siren call of cross-border shopping and stay home to shop.
“As we all know, the strength of the Canadian dollar is generating a brand new type of competition. While it can be understood why some consumers might be tempted to shop in the US, Corus Québec wants its listeners to be fully aware of the major impact cross-border shopping can have at home,” says the company’s press release.
“We all have an impact on the Québec economy by the way we spend our money…and this holiday season is no exception.”
All Corus Québec stations will broadcast a 30-second radio spot several times a day inviting everyone to put their money where their home is…here in Québec.
Ed note: We have but one question – why isn’t Corus (or, for that matter, all radio companies), giving this a shot in all regions near the border?
