Corus, NBCU pull plug on KidsCo

TORONTO – International children’s television channel KidsCo, a joint venture owned by Corus Entertainment and NBCUniversal, will soon fade to black. A spokesperson for the brand alluded to increased competition in the children’s genre as a reason for the decision. "As one of many children's linear services available in the international market, growing the KidsCo business has been challenging”, reads the emailed statement.  “As a result, both shareholders - NBCUniversal and Corus Entertainment - have decided to discontinue the joint venture service by early 2014."
