Corus Radio announced Tuesday its Vancouver news/talk station, CKNW, is moving to a new home on the radio dial — from 980 CKNW to 730 CKNW — on Feb. 24.
The signal change is intended “to better service our Vancouver listeners and provide wider, more accessible coverage in Downtown Vancouver and the Lower Mainland”, Corus said in an emailed announcement.
The move follows Corus pulling the plug on its AM 730 CKGO all-traffic station in June 2024.
“Listeners will now be able to enjoy a stronger Talk Radio signal on 730 CKNW, with the same great programs they know and love,” the Corus announcement said.
Weekday programming on CKNW includes Mornings with Simi (5:30 a.m.-9 a.m.), The Mike Smyth Show (9 a.m.-12 p.m.), The Jill Bennett Show (12 p.m.-3 p.m.), The Jas Johal Show (3 p.m.-6 p.m.) and The Ben Mulroney Show (6 p.m.-8 p.m.).
“In addition to this exciting launch, Corus will continue to provide listeners with access to our stations via digital streaming, iHeart Radio and more,” Corus said.
