Corus lines up sponsors for OWN debut


TORONTO – Corus Entertainment has signed four charter sponsors for the March 1st launch of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network in Canada.

The Brick, General Mills Canada, L’Oréal Canada Inc. and Nissan have each committed to 18 month sponsorship packages which could include contests, branded content, product integration opportunities, blended tune-in spots, programming line ups, as well as an on-line campaign including big box and leader board ads.

“As the excitement and anticipation builds towards the March 1 launch of OWN, we are delighted to announce that we have The Brick, General Mills Canada, L’Oréal Canada and Nissan on board as charter sponsors, and we look forward to working with these valued partners on creating highly customized campaigns,” said Marilyn Orecchio, VP of TV Sales, Women, in the annoucement.

OWN will launch on Tuesday in over six million Canadian homes on what is currently Corus’ VIVA channel.
