Corus launches French-language streaming platform Vivéo


Corus Entertainment last week announced the launch of Vivéo, its new French-language streaming platform, available now as a $4.99/mo. add-on subscription to Amazon Prime Video in Canada.

Offering more than 200 series and films — representing nearly 2,000 hours of content — Vivéo currently features original series from Corus’s French-language drama channel Séries Plus, original documentaries from its Historia channel, Adult Swim’s flagship series, hit shows from the DC Animated Universe and Warner Bros. Animation, and a selection of international drama series, documentaries and lifestyle programming.

“This platform allows us to move beyond traditional broadcasting to give French Canadians a new way to access stories that resonate with them. By following the evolving viewing habits, we are making our French-language content available anytime, anywhere, and in a simple and user-friendly technological environment,” Julie Godon, head of French specialty networks at Corus, said in a press release.

Original productions from Séries Plus and Historia available on Vivéo include Annie & JoeyBête noireAnticosti, Crimes du Nord, and Steak, blé d’Inde, patates, along with new titles from these networks added to the platform the day after their linear television broadcast.

Adult Swim content includes Rick and MortySmiling FriendsCommon Side Effects and Robot Chicken, while international offerings include NightsleeperMurder in a Small TownCatch Me a KillerRust Valley RestorersAmerican PickersBig Food Bucket ListFire Masters and Rock Solid Builds.

Animated content includes titles from the Teen Titans Go!Batman and DC Super Hero Girls franchises, as well as timeless classics such as Looney Tunes CartoonsAnimaniacsTom and Jerry and Scooby-Doo.

Corus said Vivéo plans to expand its distribution beyond Prime Video by partnering with additional services in the coming months.
