Corus extends streaming deal with Netflix for Rust Valley Restorers

TORONTO – Corus Studios today announced the sale of Canadian original series Rust Valley Restorers, season two, to Netflix in a global streaming deal.

Slated to premiere six episodes (60 minutes each) globally on May 8 on Netflix, the platform will launch six more episodes later in 2020. This follows the sale of season one of the series, which debuted on the platform this past summer. This is Corus Studios’ second worldwide sale with Netflix, said the company in a release.

Rust Valley Restorers profiles the unique car restoration community in the “Rust Valley” (Tappen, B.C.) and a shop that stands apart from the rest. Led by the its dreadlocked owner, Mike Hall, and his colourful crew, they transform rusted wrecks into collectible cars. In the second season, Hall makes some changes: his sidekick Avery is now the Rust Brothers shop manager and the two are determined the business will turn a profit this year.

The series is produced by Mayhem Entertainment in association with Corus Studios for the parent company’s History channel, which premieres the episodes exclusively in Canada. Corus Studios is represented by Rita Carbone Fleury, who oversees the global sales of Corus’ original content slate and brokered this deal.
