TORONTO – In the coming weeks, Corus Entertainment will announce some changes to the Corus Made with Pay Fund application process, the company announced this week.
Among the changes will be the implementation of a deadline-driven application process for concept and script development funding. “This will better align the submission process with other private sector funding agencies. The first deadline for eligible applications is January 9, 2008,” says a press release.
Administered by Movie Central, the Corus Made with Pay Fund provides financial support to Canadian television and film productions at various stages of development. Susan Makela, director of program funds and policy, television, Corus Entertainment will oversee the administration of the Corus Made with Pay Fund in collaboration with Erica Benson, vice-president programming, Movie Central and Scream, and the Movie Central programming team.
More details on the new process will be announced the first week of December 2007. At that time, deadlines, eligibility guidelines and application forms will also be posted online at www.corusent.com in the Corporate/Funds and Initiatives section.

In 2003, Corus Entertainment’s script and concept development fund was re-launched as the Corus Made with Pay Fund. Since the Fund was re-launched, Corus has committed more than $6.4 million in financing towards the development of Canadian feature-length films and original drama series.
