
TORONTO – Corner Gas: The Movie will roll out as a multi-platform event in Canada beginning with its theatrical debut in early December, followed by premieres on The Movie Network, CTV, and The Comedy Network, and a DVD release before the holidays.
The 90 minute feature film was shot this summer in Saskatchewan and will arrive in Cineplex theatres from December 3 to 7, 2014. The theatrical premiere will feature in-theatre cast appearances across the country, a Corner Gas Tweet Up, giveaways and a pre-event show including a special message from Brent Butt, trivia, and excerpts from the Canada-wide Corner Gas sing-a-long. Broadcast dates are to be announced.
Headlined by creator and comedian Brent Butt, Corner Gas: The Movie stars the original award-winning ensemble cast including Gabrielle Miller, Eric Peterson, Fred Ewanuick, Janet Wright, Lorne Cardinal, Tara Spencer-Nairn, and Nancy Robertson.
Corner Gas the television series premiered on January 22, 2004 on CTV to 1.15 million viewers and continued for six seasons and 107 episodes. The series finale aired April 13, 2009, and the 3.02 million viewers who tuned in set a record for the largest audience on record for a Canadian scripted television series.
