
TORONTO – TSN announced Thursday that Nathalie Cook has been appointed vice-president of integrated marketing and partnerships, and Mark Silver has been named senior director, digital. Both join TSN after successful roles at Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.
In her newly created position, Cook will lead TSN’s brand partnerships, marketing, and events divisions. Known for popular campaigns like the Kraft Celebration Tour, Wendy’s Kick for a Million, and Purolator Tackle Hunger – Cook will further expand TSN’s growing number of integrated brand partnership programs and events, across all TSN platforms. She will also oversee all key functional areas related to TSN marketing, including consumer advertising, on-air promotion and special events, beginning with the launch of the Dominion All-Star Curling Skins Game in January 2013, says the company press release.

Prior to joining TSN, Cook served as vice-president, marketing and partnerships, for the consortium, where she oversaw all partner relationships, marketing, and communications-related activities, as well as promotion of the London 2012 Olympic Games. In 2010, Cook was named one of the industry’s most influential women by the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity.
“Nathalie’s ability to foster value-added relationships will prove to be an incredible asset to TSN as we accelerate our already successful brand partnership business,” said TSN president Stewart Johnston, in the announcement. “In this new role, Nathalie has a clear mandate to engage partners and clients with innovative, integrated campaigns across all of TSN’s industry-leading platforms.”

As the new head of TSN’s digital strategy, Silver (left) assumes a leadership role in driving the TSN brand with a multi-platform strategy to deliver sports content to Canadians across every screen. Working closely with multiple TSN business units, Silver will oversee content development and delivery strategy across TSN’s web and mobile platforms.
Most recently, Silver was senior director of digital media for the consortium, where he built and executed its digital coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games across multiple platforms. Prior to that, he was director of operations, digital media for the consortium’s Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, an effort that earned a Gemini Award for outstanding technical achievement in digital media, and a Canadian New Media Award for best cross-platform project.
“Mark’s expertise will further establish our leadership in the digital landscape and reinforce our commitment to delivering best-in-class digital coverage to Canadian sports fans – no matter what screen they’re using,” added Johnston.
