Comwave launches ePhone in the cloud

TORONTO – Fresh off the heels of launching ePhone for the BlackBerry Playbook, Comwave has introduced ePhone as a web-based Adobe Flash video phone that it says can work from any computer in the world with an Internet connection.

The VoIP provider said that ePhone does not require the installation of any software, and includes free local and long distance calls to almost 60 countries for $20 per year. Customers receive their own phone number to receive free calls from landlines and mobile phones, and video calls to other ePhone users are free.

"ePhone is an incredible value that every laptop should have", said president Yuval Barzakay, in Thursday’s announcement. "In the boardroom or in the dorm room, ePhone turns your laptop into a regular phone."

Users may sign up for a free three-day trial which includes 100 minutes of free calling and unlimited talk between other ePhone users. Once the trial has expired, customers will have the option to continue for an annual fee of $20.
