TORONTO- Comwave is taking on Skype by launching two new versions of ePhone for smartphones and tablets which includes a free telephone number that users can choose allowing them to receive incoming calls from any telephone around the world.
"Having a Toronto or New York phone number on your smartphone is powerful especially when you travel and want to get around those costly roaming fees," said Yuval Barzakay, President. With ePhone Free users get their own free phone number to make or receive calls anywhere in Canada and the USA at no cost. The step up is ePhone Global $30 that includes everything offered in the Free version and allows users to call 59 countries free (250 minutes a month) for the $30 annual subscription. In contrast, Skype charges users for every call.
"While other apps seem to put up walled gardens confining you to the App, ePhone allows you to communicate for free to non ePhone users as well. Now, someone can be in New York with their traditional cell phone and call an Android ePhone user across the globe in India and allow another computer ePhone user to join in." added Barzakay.

ePhone is available for Android, Mac, PC and Blackberry Playbook and the iPad and iPhone 5 release is expected very soon says Comwave.
