Come for the indieNET upfront Thursday, stay for the virtual afterparty

TORONTO — The indieNET group of broadcasters, which includes CHCH TV, YesTV, CHEK and NTV, is inviting advertisers, marketers and broadcasters to join them for the group’s digital upfront scheduled for Thursday, June 3 at 10 a.m. ET.

During the livestream broadcast, to be hosted by Airtime Television Sales, the indieNET group will announce new fall programming and celebrate the sixth anniversary of their partnership. Clients and advertisers will be able to stream the event live and on demand at indienet2021.com beginning June 3.

Special guests featured during the 2021 indieNET digital upfront include: Kathy Gardner, vice-president of media insights for ThinkTV, who will showcase the industry organization’s findings on TV’s strong ROI for Canadian broadcasters, marketers and advertisers; and Bryan Press, director of NABS Media Canada, who will outline the valuable resources offered by NABS to support industry colleagues every day of the year.

A new feature this year is a virtual afterparty hosted by Kumospace, a video chat experience that combines the creativity of video games with the simplicity of video chat, says indieNET’s press release. Guests will be able to network and mingle with industry friends in the virtual “indieNET Lounge” following the livestream presentation. The afterparty is intended to be reminiscent of years’ past at the Sheridan Centre in downtown Toronto, and attendees will be able to visit the AirTime Suite, catch up with old friends at The Long Bar or Pinnacle Room, or drop by other uniquely styled rooms as guests of CHCH TV, YesTV, CHEK or NTV, says the release.

Together, the indieNET collective covers 94% of the Canadian population in six major TV markets, boasting more than 10 million unique subscribers.
