Colm Feore to head international jury at Banff World Television Festival


TORONTO – Canadian actor Colm Feore will preside over a five-person international jury at the 29th Banff World Television Festival, running June 8-11, organizers announced Wednesday.

Feore starred in the films Bon Cop, Bad Cop, Chicago, Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould and in the TV mini-series Trudeau.

The other members of the jury are Daniele Doglio, from Italy; Cynthia Fenneman, from the United States; Kerry Stauffer, from Canada; and Robert Thomas, from Wales.

The jury will convene one week prior to the festival in Banff, Alberta to select six Special Jury Prizes to be given to the best programs from among the 2008 competition entrants.

The awards include two special jury prizes and four new prizes (for best feature-length documentary, best entertainment program, best documentary and best drama). The jury will also award the Grand Jury Prize for the best program of 2008.

The jury prizes will be given out on June 9 as part of the festival.
