MONTREAL – Cogeco Connexion has completed its new free wireless Internet network in the Ontario city of Kingston.
With almost 100 hotspots,Cogeco said that the network was largely built by leveraging its business customers, and covers locations such as retail shops, restaurants and professional services offices alongside high-traffic streets such as Princess Street, Queen Street and Ontario Street. An interactive map of Cogeco Connexion’s Wi-Fi hotspots is available here.
Cogeco high-speed Internet customers can connect for free to a Cogeco hotspot with any Wi-Fi-enabled device by signing-in with their “My Account” credentials. After signing-in once, their device will automatically be connected to the Cogeco Wi-Fi network when in the vicinity of a hotspot. Non-customers can log-in as guests to enjoy a free trial of the service.
“Today’s consumers want to stay constantly connected to their world, at home and on the go, and they are looking for a reliable Wi-Fi experience,” said marketing and innovation VP Daniel Boisvert, in the news release. “As such, we are very proud to have implemented the most significant public Wi-Fi network in the Kingston area, and to offer unlimited access to our Cogeco Internet clients outside their home, while they are shopping or strolling in those various hotspot zones.”
