MONTREAL – Cogeco Cable has redesigned its high speed Internet packages in Ontario and Quebec to offer customers more speed and higher data transfer capacity, plus lower rates if they exceed their monthly caps.
Effective immediately, Ontarians may choose from new packages called ‘Express 4’, ‘Express 8’, and ‘Turbo 14’, while in Quebec, the new packages are called ‘Express 3’, ‘Express 7’ and ‘Turbo 14’. They replace Cogeco’s former Lite, Lite Plus and Standard offers, respectively.
Cogeco Internet customers in territories where DOCSIS 3.0 technology has been launched in may also choose a brand new package called ‘Turbo 20’ which offers download speeds of up to 20 Mbps, upload speeds of up to 1.5 Mbps, and a monthly data transfer capacity of 80 GB in Ontario or 100GB in Quebec. The price per additional GB is $1.50, up to a $50 maximum per month.
In Ontario, ‘Ultimate 30’ customers have seen their upload speeds increase to 2 Mbps from 1.5 Mbps and their monthly data transfer capacity increase to 175 GB from 125 GB, while ‘Ultimate 50’ customers now have upload speeds up to 2 Mbps from 1.5 Mbps and their monthly data transfer capacity have risen to 250 GB from 150 GB.
In Quebec, the ‘Ultimate 30’ package becomes ‘Ultimate 40’, and customers subscribing to this service have seen their download speed increase to up to 40 Mbps from 30 Mbps, their upload speed to up to 2 Mpbs from 1.5 Mbps, as well as a monthly data transfer capacity to 175 GB from 100 GB. Subscribers of the ‘Ultimate 50’ package, now ‘Ultimate 60’, will see download speeds rising to up to 60 Mbps from 50 Mbps, upload speeds to up to 2 Mbps from 1.5 Mbps, and monthly data transfer capacity to 250 GB from 150 GB.
