MONTREAL – Cogeco Cable has brought its new, faster high speed Internet service to the Trois-Rivieres area of Quebec.
Business customers who currently subscribe to the company’s ‘Business HSI Enterprise’ service will be upgraded to the ‘Ultimate 50’ package at no extra cost, while residential customers in the region may now choose either the ‘Ultimate 30’ or ‘Ultimate 50’ package.
Powered by DOCSIS 3.0 technology, a technology of data compression that allows a more efficient and economical use of bandwidth, the ‘Ultimate 30’ service offers speeds of up to 30 Mbps for downloads and up to 1.5 Mbps for uploads with a monthly download cap of 100 GB. With the ‘Ultimate 50’ package, speeds for residential customers can reach 50 Mbps for downloads and 1.5 Mbps for uploads with a monthly download cap of 150 GB. Business customers can reach download speeds of up to 50 Mbps, and an upload speed of up to 2 Mbps.
Cogeco’s ‘Business Ultimate 50’ package costs $189.95 per month with a three-year commitment, $199.95 per month with a two-year commitment and $209.95 with no commitment. It includes modem rental, security services, unlimited data transfer, 20 email addresses, and a 100MB capacity per email addresses.
For residential customers of Cogeco’s TV or home phone service, the ‘Ultimate 30’ package costs $59.95 per month, and ‘Ultimate 50’ costs $89.95 per month. Customers who subscribe only to Cogeco’s Internet service will pay $64.95 per month for ‘Ultimate 30’ and $94.95 per month for ‘Ultimate 50’, which includes includes the company’s full suite of security services and a modem rental at no extra charge.
The new packages will be available in the St-Hyacinthe area on June 8, and rolled out gradually throughout its service territory.
