Cogeco hires Nancy Audette away from Fido

MONTREAL — Cogeco Connexion, the Canadian cable subsidiary of Cogeco Communications, announced today it has appointed Nancy Audette as vice-president and general manager for the Quebec region, effective today.

Most recently, Audette (above) was vice-president and general manager of Fido Mobile, a position she held since 2016.

With more than 25 years of experience in Quebec and internationally, Audette has served in several senior management and executive roles in sales, marketing and operations in companies such as Transcontinental (TC) Media, Rogers Communications and Microcell. Her international telecom experience includes working with Telesystem International Wireless (TIW), in Brazil, Czech Republic and Morocco.

“I am delighted that Nancy is joining the Cogeco family. She will be an undeniable asset to our growth strategy in the Québec region,” says Frédéric Perron, president of Cogeco Connexion, in a press release. “With her experience and leadership, I am convinced that, in collaboration with her team, Nancy will rapidly contribute to the ongoing satisfaction of our customers and support our business objectives.”

Audette’s hiring comes at a time when Cogeco has said it plans to launch mobile wireless services, following the CRTC’s recent mobile virtual network operator decision, which allows regional players who invest in telecom infrastructure and own spectrum to access the wireless networks of Canada’s largest telecom companies.

Cogeco Connexion is currently taking part in the 3500 MHz (3.5 GHz) spectrum auction.
