
MONTREAL – Cogeco Connexion today announced the availability of its residential and business gigabit Internet offering in many of its Ontario markets.
This will include new, next generation Internet Wi-Fi equipment, as well.
The up to 1 Gbps service is now available in: Acton, Amherstview, Ancaster, Bath, Beamsville, Burlington, Campbellville, Carlisle, Dundas, Elora, Fergus, Flamborough, Freelton, Gananoque, Georgetown, Greenville, Grimsby, Hamilton, Kingston, Millgrove, Millhaven, Milton, Napanee, Oakville, Odessa, Rockwood, Speyside, Stewarttown, Stoney Creek, Vineland, Waterdown and Winona.
"Today's announcement is further evidence of our unwavering commitment to providing our customers the means to effectively navigate evolving technology as well as to meet their changing needs," said Ken Smithard, president, in the press release. "More than ever, our customers are asking for increased Internet capabilities to support their gaming, streaming and browsing needs or as a business enabler increasing their business' reach and productivity."
These Internet speed upgrades, says the release, “follow a series of expansion and upgrading projects carried out in recent months, as well as the company's recent announcement of substantial new investments in its infrastructure for the continuation, over the next three years, of its DOCSIS 3.1 network enhancement program.”
The release also noted by August 2019 a majority of Cogeco Connexion's wired footprint, which runs from the Gaspé to Windsor, Ont., will be able to deliver the same level of service.
