MONTREAL – Cogeco Cable announced Tuesday the launch of its Ultimate 30 and Ultimate 50 High Speed Internet (HSI) packages for consumers in Shawinigan, Québec, as well as its new Business Ultimate 50 package for businesses.
Cogeco says the three packages, powered by DOCSIS 3.0, offer advantages in speed and pricing compared to competitors. The Ultimate 30 package offers speeds of up to 30 Mbps for downloads and up to 1.5 Mbps for uploads with a monthly download cap of 100 GB. For the Ultimate 50 package, speeds can reach 50 Mbps for downloads and 1.5 Mbps for uploads with a monthly download cap of 150 GB.
For Québec customers of Cogeco Television or Home Phone service, Cogeco’s Ultimate 30 package is $54.95 per month for the first 12 months, a saving of $5 per month and Ultimate 50 is offered at $89.95 per month.
Cogeco customers who subscribe only to Cogeco Internet service pay $64.95 per month for Ultimate 30 and $94.95 per month for Ultimate 50. The service includes a full suite of security services and modem rental at no extra charge. The Ultimate 30 and Ultimate 50 packages will continue to be rolled-out gradually throughout Cogeco’s territory.
Cogeco’s customers who currently subscribe to the Business HSI Enterprise service in Shawinigan will be upgraded to the Ultimate 50 package at no extra cost. The new package will be equally available to new customers as well.
The Business Ultimate 50 offers a faster download speed of up to 50 Mbps, and an upload speed of up to 2 Mbps. Cogeco claims it’s the fastest Business HSI service offered in their market.
Cogeco’s Business Ultimate 50 package costs $189.95 per month with a three-year commitment, $199.95 per month with a two-year commitment and $209.95 with no commitment. It includes modem rental, security services, unlimited data transfer, 20 email addresses, and a 100MB capacity per email addresses. The Business Ultimate 50 package will be rolled-out gradually throughout Cogeco’s service territory.
