CNBC enriches web site

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. – Featuring real-time index data, original broadband programming, more daily business video, additional investing tools and blogs from the cable channel’s team of anchors and reporters, CNBC Monday launched the new CNBC.com.

"We have created a truly integrated news gathering operation that leverages the assets and resources of CNBC and maximizes their potential for both TV and web platforms," said Mark Hoffman, president, in a press release." CNBC.com delivers all the analysis and access viewers expect from CNBC while affording breadth, depth and personalization features that simply aren’t possible on television. CNBC.com also offers users the chance to stay up-to- date with CNBC even when they cannot watch CNBC on their television."

Personalized tickers on CNBC.com can be created by users in order to track specifically designated companies. Tickers are detachable and can even be anchored on a viewer’s desktop.

All components of CNBC.com have visible "tags" searchable across all media — video, text, charts, TV programming and user-generated message boards. "This literally puts a wealth of information at fingertips of everyone logged onto CNBC.com," says the release.

CNBC.com will air three to eight hours of daily live programming, covering events that have the potential to move markets. In addition, CNBC.com will air a live newscast, "Market in a Minute," at the top and bottom of each hour between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM ET with CNBC anchors including Maria Bartiromo, Bill Griffeth and Joe Kernen, Sue Herera, Erin Burnett, Carl Quintanilla and Beck Quick, among others.
