VANCOUVER – The Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) has promoted Liz Shorten to senior vice-president, operations and member services, BC Producers Branch.
In addition to her role at the CMPA-BC, Shorten (pictured) is a board member of the Vancouver International Film Festival, a trustee of the Performing Arts Lodge Vancouver, and is active on committees at the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of BC. Nationally, she also sits on the board of directors of Reel Canada, Story Money Impact Foundation, and is president of Women in View.
“Since joining the CMPA in 2009, Liz has built the CMPA – BC Producers Branch into a highly effective operation, deftly serving BC members, while collaborating with stakeholders across the creative industries to advance a common agenda,” said CMPA president and CEO Reynolds Mastin, in Wednesday’s announcement. “Although her primary focus is serving BC members, Liz is a leader for our entire organization; her broad experience and pragmatic approach to problem-solving benefit our board, our national membership, and staff across the country.”
Prior to joining the CMPA, Shorten held senior positions at the Ontario Film Development Corporation, British Columbia Film, and CBC Television.
