OTTAWA – Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) announced today the 2022 drama series stream cohort of its International Co-production Accelerator Program (ICAP) and congratulated those who completed the feature film stream.
ICAP, which is being presented virtually due to Covid-19, “features masterclass presentations with industry leaders from across the international production arena,” a press release says.
“Program participants have the opportunity to engage in training sessions and one-on-one project consultations focused on international financing, content development, legal affairs, distribution, and marketing strategies for feature film and drama series projects,” says the release.
“Programming for each stream is tailored to connect producers from around the globe and offer training to advance participants’ projects currently in development.”
This year, the program has included CMPA members from Canada, Ireland Greece, Sweden, Germany, South Africa, Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
“ICAP is a great opportunity for producers to create long-lasting global partnerships, and the program’s success illustrates the value of international collaborations,” said Liz Shorten, the CMPA’s chief operating officer, in the release.
“I wish all the participants the best with their projects in development, and a big thank you to Global Affairs Canada for their support of the program.”
The drama series stream will begin early next year.
