TORONTO – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) is gearing up for a series of cross-country consultations this fall to gather feedback from stakeholders that it will use to help to shape its policy and future programs.
The process will include focus groups in 18 cities, in all provinces and territories, as well as a series of industry working groups. The first focus group is scheduled for September 10 in Moncton, and a preliminary schedule of the other events is available here.
All CMF stakeholders will have an opportunity to consider how significant shifts in content consumption habits, rapidly-evolving market conditions, as well as policy and regulatory changes will impact the CMF’s funding programs, particularly in light of the government’s Creative Canada Policy Framework and the recently-launched review of the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Acts, says the organization.
The CMF will also conduct a series of working groups to delve more deeply into specific, program-related topics, such as funding mechanisms, development, export, and its experimental stream.
Stakeholders are encouraged to share comments and questions via the CMF website or through its social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook.
