CMF to invest over $10M in Black, racialized creators

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced Friday its Program for Racialized Communities is investing $10 million in the production of 23 audiovisual projects by production companies owned and controlled by Black and racialized individuals. The projects include 11 documentaries, three projects for children and youth and two dramas, and are from Ontario, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and Manitoba. Sixteen of the productions are in English and will get $6.7 million, while seven are French-language projects – four dramas and three documentaries – getting $3.4 million.
