TORONTO – As the Canada Media Fund opens its doors, at least one company has seized upon a unique business opportunity.
Media strategist Alan Sawyer, principal at Two Solitudes Consulting, has launched a ‘match-making’ service designed to help producers and broadcasters find the right interactive media partners for their projects.
“Calling this a match-making service really over-simplifies and understates what this is all about”, said Sawyer in a statement. “It’s a familiar concept and catch-phrase, but this isn’t about arranging a blind date and then disappearing. Anyone can do that – often with disastrous results. Two Solitudes will stay involved throughout the entire lifecycle of the project to ensure satisfaction and top-quality results.”
According to the company’s website www.changingchannels.ca, the digital media component of a television project must be considered and incorporated from the very beginning.
“This forces producers to reconsider how they create content – and, for most, with whom they will create their interactive content, as most producers lack the in-house skills to create convergent projects that will meet the CMF’s requirements”, the site says.
