CMF investing nearly $4M in 17 digital linear series


The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced last week approximately $3.9 million will be invested in 17 projects through its Digital Linear Series Program.

The program supports digital linear series in their second or subsequent season, created initially for online platforms and in CMF-funded genres.

Of the 17 projects receiving funding, 12 are drama series, four are children and youth series, and one is a documentary.

The funded projects are:

  • Abracadavers (Season 3), by Alberta’s Numera Films Limited
  • The Missus Downstairs (Season 4), by Newfoundland and Labrador’s Torbay Ponies Inc.
  • Paranormal Solutions Inc (Season 3), by British Columbia’s Tilt Nine Entertainment Inc.
  • Streams Flow From a River (Season 2), by Toronto’s Fae Pictures STREAMS Inc.
  • The Runner (Season 2), by Toronto’s N5 Pictures Inc.
  • Weirdos (Season 2), by Toronto’s Magic Cube Productions Inc.
  • You’re My Hero (Season 2), by Toronto’s You’re My Hero 2 2023 Inc.
  • The Bravest Knight (Season 2), by British Columbia’s BBB (Bravest Knight – II – Production) Inc.
  • Gisele’s Mashup Adventures (Season 2), by Toronto’s Headspinner Productions Inc.
  • Macy Murdoch (Season 2), by Toronto’s Shaftesbury Digital III Inc.
  • Run Jump Play (Season 2), by British Columbia’s Imagine Create Media Incorporated
  • À tout prix (Season 2), by Montreal’s Productions KOTV WEB Inc.
  • De Pierre en fille (Season 2), by Montreal’s Les Productions Passez Go III Inc.
  • Detox (Season 2), by Montreal’s UGO Multimedia Internet Stands Inc.
  • Têtes à claques (Season 7), by Montreal’s Salambo TV Inc.
  • Décoloniser l’histoire (Season 3), by Montreal’s 9249-7189 Québec Inc.
  • Tales From the Rez (Season 2), by Alberta’s Piikaniksaahko Blackfoot Nation Films Inc.

The funding decisions were made by a jury of industry professionals including Mara Gourd-Mercado, Claire Dion, Emilia King, Jordan Molaro, Kate Green and Louiselle Roy.
