TORONTO – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) has launched a new online resource that examines emerging technologies that enable producers to create TV content in new and innovative ways.
Known as InnovaTV, the resource already has 12 presentations designed to provide developers, technologists and creators with a platform to share information on innovation and convergence in the television industry. The presentations include interviews on topics such as t-commerce (transactional interfaces related to digital TV content) and the influence of social networks on television consumption.
“Using video interviews and short blog articles, the site encourages television producers and broadcasters to share the variety of ways in which they can use the latest technologies to meet the growing demand for new digital content,” said CMF director of industry and market trends, Catalina Briceño, in the announcement. “This new platform is the result of an industry initiative led by people working in television production and broadcasting on a daily basis. After meeting in Toronto in January 2013 to pool our knowledge and share our experiences, we all expressed an interest in pursuing these exchanges using an online tool. InnovaTV is the end result.”
The CMF invites creators, producers and broadcasters wishing to submit content and ideas to email their proposals to the editorial committee at info@innovatv.ca.
