CMF announces $19 million in emergency funds now available


TORONTO – The Canada Media Fund today announced a new initiative to support Canada’s film and TV makers.

A total of $19 million is being made available, which includes $12 million in emergency support funds announced in July 2020 and an additional $7 million top-up made recently by the Government of Canada. The funds are part of the federal government’s Phase 2 Covid-19 Emergency Support designated for the cultural, heritage and sport sectors.

Administered by the CMF, in collaboration with Telefilm Canada, the funds are available to both film and television producers that did not receive Phase 1 funding. Please click here to apply, or click here to access the criteria.

Applications will open on Monday, September 21 and will close on October 16, 2020.
