TORONTO – City Montreal, which debuts February 4, says its schedule will feature the hit series 2 Broke Girls, Revolution, Modern Family, and the original series Seed. City Montreal says its daytime and prime-time schedule features all the “hit home-grown and acquired series Canadians have come to love,” including How I Met Your Mother, Person of Interest, New Girl, Revolution, Revenge, Cityline and the upcoming City original comedies Seed, Package Deal, and newly announced animated comedy, Mother Up!.
City Montreal’s prime-time schedule kicks off February 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT with How I Met Your Mother the new original comedy Seed at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. Comedies 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly follow at 9 and 9:30 p.m. ET/PT respectively. At 10 pm viewers will see The Carrie Diarie.
Rogers Communications says City Montreal will also produce and deliver 15.5 hours of original local programming not currently available from existing English-language stations in the market – including daily weekday morning show Breakfast Television and weekly sports show Connected Montreal. The new City Montreal in-house productions will add more than 20 new production jobs in the Montreal market says Rogers with details to be announced at a later date.
City Montreal marks the third expansion for the brand in the past year following the launch of City Saskatchewan and City programming in three key markets in Western Canada – Kamloops, B.C., Prince George, B.C., and Medicine Hat, AB. City is now available in more than nine million homes across Canada.
