SAN FRANSCISCO – Cisco ThousandEyes launched Internet Insights: Application Outages, a new live map that helps users troubleshoot SaaS application outages, last week.
“Application Outages correlates application issues across many different users and identifies common outage patterns that can be used to corroborate individual user issues and help organizations understand the magnitude of disruptions and their impacts on employees and customers,” Angelique Medina, director of product marketing at ThousandEyes, told Cartt.ca via email.
“Organizations today rely on SaaS applications for their business and when outages occur, the oftentimes significant delay from SaaS providers to notify about an issue becomes damaging,” she said.
“To bridge that gap, Application Outages was designed to provide instant insight into the availability of business-critical SaaS applications on a global scale. As a result, organizations can proactively reduce the time it takes to identify issues, prevent wasteful troubleshooting, and quickly communicate to employees and customers.”
There are over 75 business applications about which ThousandEyes surfaces information. “Organizations can choose to tailor the visualization and alerting of outages based on the list of applications that they care about,” said Medina.
“All of the data is represented in an easy-to-understand manner that customer support and IT help desks can use to rapidly support widely distributed users who would otherwise over-run organizations’ resources with questions and concerns about the availability of a particular app.”
Internet Insights: Application Outages is available through an annual subscription – prices of which vary.
