Ciel Satellite takes another step

OTTAWA – Orbital operator Ciel Satellite announced today it has finalized development plans for its new BSS and FSS frequencies with Industry Canada.

The agency has issued approvals in principle to Ciel to develop the following spectrum: Ka FSS at 91°W and 109.2°W; 17 GHz BSS at 91°W, 103°W and 107.3°W; and 12 GHz BSS at 138°W.

Preliminary assignment to Ciel of these frequencies and orbital positions was announced by Industry Canada in June 2007, as reported by Cartt.ca.

“We are pleased that the efforts to commercially develop these opportunities can now begin in earnest, and we look forward to meeting the growing need for next generation satellite facilities in Canada and abroad,” said Dave Lewis, president and CEO of Ciel
