MONTREAL – Tony Ciciretto is stepping down as president and CEO of Cogeco Cable’s newly renamed business unit Cogeco Peer 1, the company said late Wednesday.
He will be replaced by Philippe Jetté (pictured), who is currently SVP, chief technology and strategy officer of Cogeco Inc. To ensure a smooth leadership transition, Ciciretto has agreed to serve in an advisory role at Cogeco Peer 1 until December 31, 2015.
"It is with regret that we are announcing Tony's decision to step down to pursue other opportunities," said Cogeco Inc. president and CEO Louis Audet, in the announcement. "On behalf of the Board of Directors and all our employees, particularly those who worked closely with Tony these past six years, I want to sincerely thank him for his dedication, commitment and many contributions to the growth and evolution of Cogeco Peer 1, and wish him the best in his future endeavours."
Jetté has held senior leadership positions at Cogeco since 2011, and recently played an integral role in the evolution of Cogeco Cable's Enterprise Data Services segment to create Cogeco Peer 1. His new title will be president of Cogeco Peer 1.
Audet will take over Jetté's current corporate functions in technology and strategy until further notice. "I am convinced that Philippe is well-positioned to take on the role of President of Cogeco Peer 1," Audet added.
Headquartered in Toronto, Cogeco Peer 1 is a global provider of business technology platforms, such as colocation, network, managed hosting, cloud services and a portfolio of managed IT services.
