TORONTO – The Christian Channel announced that Star Choice has begun to carry the digital channel owned by S-VOX, the same company which owns Vision TV.
Launched in October 2005 as the country’s first nationally licensed digital television service for Christian viewers, as of today the channel will be available to 850,000 Star Choice subscribers coast to coast, starting on June 1. It will be carried on channel 399 and on Star Choice’s "basic" package.
With the addition on the Star Choice platform, The Christian Channel may now be available to small cable companies as well, which get distant signals from Cancom/Star Choice.
The channel already enjoys distribution to 750,000 Ontario homes through Rogers Digital Cable as part of its basic digital package.
"We are delighted that our service will now be available to Christians everywhere in Canada. With 1.6 million subscribers, The Christian Channel now enjoys greater penetration than any other digital service in the country," said Mark Prasuhn, president and general manager of The Christian Channel.
The channel offers television ministries such as James Robison: Life Today, Jack Van Impe, Kenneth Copeland, Love Worth Finding and Billy Graham Classics, along with family dramas, feature films (notably the Left Behind movies) and The Gaither Gospel Hour music series.
