Chris Gordon named as president of CHUM Radio

TORONTO – Chris Gordon has been appointed president of CTVglobemedia’s radio division, which consists of the CHUM radio stations it acquired, it was announced Wednesday.

His appointment is effective immediately. He replaces Duff Roman, who has served as the acting head of the CHUM Radio group during the transition period.

A 25-year broadcasting veteran, Gordon joined CHUM Radio ten years ago, serving most recently as VP and general manager of Ottawa’s CFRA, TEAM 1200, Majic 100 and Bob 93.9 FM radio stations, while also holding the position of VP and general manager of A-Channel Ottawa.

Prior to joining CHUM, Gordon held senior radio positions in London and Calgary.

“We were very fortunate to be able to choose from a number of highly qualified candidates who came forward from our Radio division, a testament to its bench strength. Chris brings a unique mix of skills as a successful operator of a combined radio/TV station group and as a strategist with well developed insights into the future of the fiercely competitive Canadian radio industry,” said Ivan Fecan, president and CEO of CTVglobemedia and CEO of CTV Inc.
