CHCH readies comprehensive Ontario election coverage

TORONTO – Channel Zero-owned CHCH is gearing up to offer Southern Ontario viewers extensive on air and online coverage of the upcoming provincial election.

The channel will air the Ontario Leaders’ Debate on June 3 from 8:00-9:30 PM ET commercial free, providing viewers with an alternate timeslot to the currently scheduled 6:30 PM slot on CBC, CTV and Global.  The Leaders’ Debate will be followed by Your Home Your Vote: The Leaders’ Debate, a 30-minute CHCH exclusive post-analysis.

Election Night coverage will begin at 8:00 PM ET on June 12 and include up-to-the-minute news from across the province with reduced commercial breaks, as CHCH News reports live from key ridings, including Liberal party headquarters in Toronto, PC party headquarters in Niagara, and NDP headquarters in Hamilton. Throughout the evening, viewers may also join the CHCH conversation with #CHCHElection.

Well-timed for election coverage, CHCH has launched live news streaming at www.chch.com

CHCH News is now available online weekdays from 4:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and 11:00 PM to midnight for the late Evening News.  On weekends, the Evening News at 6 and 11 are also available online, and consumers can now watch CHCH News live at the office or on their tablet during their commute to and from work. 

CHCH currently airs 84 hours of local news every week – more than any other local television station in North America.
